Babe Ruth was born nearby, and his father ran a bar on property that today is the outfield of a stadium that has inspired the look of many ballparks to follow. Opened in 1992, the home of the Baltimore Orioles pays homage to some of the old-school ballparks where the Babe played, but its design, amenities and field are state of the art. Many fans sit in seats with fine downtown skyline views.
