One of the nation’s premier zoos is located at 6,714 feet on the slope of a mountain overlooking the Pikes Peak Region. The attraction’s approachable giraffes are a visitor favorite among an animal population that also includes bears, wolves, mountain lions, elephants, birds and insects. Also popular are meals in the zoo’s eateries, taking Mountaineer Sky Rides and spins on the carousel.
