Tejano leader José Antonio Navarro, one of only two native-born signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence, lived here in the 1850s. His adobe and limestone home in the heart of San Antonio honors Navarro’s legacy and stands as the last remnant of the city’s historically Mexican west side, known as “Laredito.”
