This State House is home to the nation’s largest state legislative body, with 400 members who meet in the highly ornamented House Chamber. The legislature first met within its chambers in 1819 and today the building serves the full General Court, Executive Council, and Governor. A granite fence surrounds this Greek Revival structure and boasts a golden dome topped with a gold-painted eagle.
