Named in honor of a WWI Navy veteran, visitors cross this glass bridge suspended over a symbolic Western Front poppy field on their way to the Main Gallery of the museum. The nine thousand poppies each represent 1,000 combat deaths and offer a poignant reminder of the 9 million people who perished as a direct result of the war.
