This urban park in Northwest DC is a respite of greenery from city life. At over 1,700 acres, the grounds include a boat center, horse stables, tennis courts, and the only planetarium in the National Park Service. Over 32 miles of hiking trails and paths travel through groves of oak, beech, cedar, and dogwood trees, across bridges, past a 19th-century grist mill, and along remnants of the Civil War.
