Named for a 12-foot-tall rock that once stood on a sandstone ledge, the New Deal era agencies rescued this land in the vast Standing Stone State Forest from heavy erosion. Trails varying in difficulty explore rugged hardwood forest, scenic overlooks, lakefront, and streams along the eastern edge of the Highland Rim. Great blue herons and red-eared sliders are spotted along Kelly Lake.
