Spring is the best time to view this park’s spectacular namesake waterfall, which plunges 215 feet into a natural amphitheater in a scenic 400-foot-deep gorge. Taughannock Creek then flows into Cayuga Lake, a recreational mecca where visitors boat, paddle, fish and swim from a sand beach. In the winter months, park hiking trails attract cross-country skiers and snowshoers.
