This “cabinet museum” has been operated by the College of Physicians of Philadelphia since 1863. Founded from surgeon Thomas Dent Mütter’s teaching collection, it uses real specimens to explain anatomy, disease, and the history of care. Josef Hyrtl’s assortment of 139 skulls is here, as well as the waxy shell of the famous “Soap Lady.”
