Opened in 2002 by Tarleton State University, this museum offers a glimpse into the birth and death of Thurber, a historic ghost town once owned entirely by the Texas Pacific Coal & Oil Company. Interactive exhibits and fascinating artifacts tell the social, economic, and political history of this important coal mine and brick-making site.
