Special programming at historic sites like Federal Hall and the Statue of Liberty will highlight the city’s role in the Revolution and its time as the nation’s first capital. Citywide events include public art exhibitions, Tall Ship Parade, re-enactments, and waterfront festivals. A special semiquincentennial “ball drop” on July 3 will mark a first of its kind, non–New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square.
