After its first buildings were constructed around 1,000 A.D., this pueblo built on a desert hilltop was the site of some of America’s first entrepreneurial activities. The Sinagua people often bargained with trade partners who lived hundreds of miles away. A short 1/3-mile loop trail leads through an ancient settlement that once expanded to 110 rooms and housed more than 200 people.
