Union victory in the Civil War battle fought at this Ozark Mountain site on March 7-8, 1862, solidified Federal control of northern Arkansas and much of neighboring Missouri. Exhibits, a road tour and a hiking trail await visitors at a park where one of the more important engagements west of the Mississippi River took place.
