Some people who walk across America’s highest suspension bridge have that lump in their throat only heights can induce: The Arkansas River is 956 feet below. Completed in 1929 to introduce visitors to the Royal Gorge’s scenic and geologic wonders, the bridge is the centerpiece at an attraction also offering Via Ferrata mountaineering, a zip line, skycoaster and gondola rides.
