This scenic site overlooking San Diego Bay commemorates the 1542 landing of Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo, the first European explorer to set foot on what is now the West Coast of the United States. The park offers opportunities to hike coastal trails, visit a historic lighthouse, explore tidal pools, spot migrating whales, photograph the Cabrillo statue and admire the San Diego skyline.
