This Scandinavian-themed site takes visitors on a journey to another world. Completed in 1929, the ornate former vacation getaway designed by a Swedish architect does justice to its location on beautiful Lake Tahoe. Many of the home’s original furnishings remain. Visitors arrive both by water and foot via a steep 1.5-mile hike from the road.
