A two-lane ribbon of State Route 254 is considered the world’s finest forest drive. Visitors drive slow under a cathedral of coast redwoods threading through hamlets and the largest contiguous old-growth redwood grove on earth – Rockefeller Forest. In Founders Grove, the 362-foot Dyerville Giant fell in 1991 and is now a marquee stop.
