ATVs, dirt bikes, and 4x4s roar across open sand piled along the Pacific. This rare stretch of California coastline remains one of the state’s only places where vehicles can legally drive on the beach. This area was also once a haven for 1930s mystics known as the Dunites, as well as an exotic shooting location for early Hollywood films.
