Planning a trip? Check out the Capitol Reef National Park website.
The namesake of this sandstone wonder is Butch Cassidy, leader of the Wild Bunch outlaw gang. Cassidy hid out in the spectacular canyon country viewed from one of the few arches that invite hikers to stand on top. A 3.5-mile round-trip hike ascends the feature in the heart of the park. The desert scenery along the way is breathtaking.
