Chautauqua is an Iroquois word that came to describe movements for intellectual and cultural education. Established at the base of Boulder’s flatirons in 1898 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 2006, today’s Chautauqua Park exists due to preservation efforts of Colorado Chautauqua. Forty miles of hiking trails lead off the trailhead, catering to millions of visitors each year.
While you're here, don't forget to grab the Boulder stamp.
