Completed in 1901, the Mile High Capitol is a celebration of the Centennial State’s natural beauty. The yule marble, granite, and rare rose onyx used in its construction are all native—so too is the gold leaf atop the 272-foot-high gold-plated dome. This iconic Neoclassical building belongs to the Civic Center Historic District and houses the legislative and executive branches of government.
