This museum’s collection includes restored fighters and bombers that helped the Allies take control of the skies above Europe and the Pacific. Visitor favorites are P-47 Thunderbolts and a P-38 Lightning that crashed in New Guinea after ramming a Japanese Zero fighter in flight. Exhibits are extensive, and docent-led tours are popular.
