One of Denver’s premier attractions opened its doors in 1904, replacing a building that originally served as an assay office for gold miners before being converted to production of gold and silver coins. Today, visitors take guided tours of a facility that produces billions of coins annually – up to 50 million per day – including circulated coins, uncirculated sets and commemorative coins.
