Managed since 1939 as a critical stopover for migrating waterfowl, Bosque del Apache is well known for large flocks of wintering sandhill cranes, as well as many other bird and mammal species who call the refuge home. Visitors come to experience the expansive vistas and leave with enchanted memories of this year-round oasis in the desert.
