Founded in 1886, ‘America’s Freedom Church’ services the Sweet Auburn community of Atlanta. Reverend Martin Luther King, Sr. served as Senior Pastor for 44 years, with his son Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. assisting as co-pastor from 1960 to 1968. Following his assassination in Memphis, Dr. King’s funeral was held at Ebenezer on April 9, 1968.
