Affectionately known as Central Station, it was home to the Aurora Fire Department from 1894 until 1980. Designed by local architect John Edward Minott, the building is known for its characteristic onion dome and the letters A.F.D. above the front doorways. The museum preserves the legacy of the fire service through its regional collections and exhibits while teaching fire safety and prevention.
