Lassen’s testament to active volcanic forces is Bumpass Hell. Fed by rain and snowmelt, Bumpass Hell is the largest hydrothermal feature in the park. Hikers see the earth in action while safely walking on an interpretive boardwalk. Steaming fumeroles, colorful boiling pools, and bubbling mudpots remind hikers the landscape is volcanically active.
