The original lighthouse that cast its beam from today’s Cape Cod National Seashore was established in 1797 to protect marine traffic. Visitors who ascend today’s 66-foot tower take in sweeping Atlantic Ocean views. Museum exhibits and on-site staff tell the stories of a property commissioned by George Washington himself.
