Also known as the East End Lighthouse, it has guarded Delaware Bay since 1885. It was constructed to help ships navigate one of the nation’s busiest coastal trade routes. During the winters, its fog signal would operate hundreds of hours, earning the nickname “the noisiest light on the Bay.” Rising off the shores of Cape Henlopen State Park, it now stands as a monument to the region’s maritime legacy.
