One of two lighthouses on Block Island, the Southeast Light sits atop Mohegan Bluff. Efforts to rescue the light culminated in a 1993 move that shuffled it inland from the edge of the eroding cliff. First lit in 1875, it guided mariners around the island in the Atlantic Ocean. This restored Victorian Gothic-style National Historic Landmark offers guided tours and maritime museum exhibits.
