The belief that nature holds restorative value drove the founder of landscape architecture. The designer of Central Park, and many projects across the U.S., created his Brookline property, Fairsted, in 1883. The preserved grounds are emblematic of his design ideals, including the Hollow’s sunken grotto and a short rock garden trail.
