Planning a trip? Check out the Harry S. Truman National Historic Site website.
The man who would become America’s 33rd president moved into a posh Victorian house with his wife, Bess, in 1919. It was Truman’s home until his death in 1972. The site hosts guided tours of the “Summer White House” while preserving other family homes and the house on a nearby farm where a young Harry lived and worked.
