The author forever linked to the Mississippi River and rural Missouri crafted some of his most famous works in a three-story, 25-room mansion in New England’s Hartford. Visitors take guided tours of the immaculately designed, decorated and furnished home where Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn were brought to life. Twain and his family lived the good life in the house between 1874 and 1891.
