Established by a Congressional mandate on July 21, 1998, the Network to Freedom aims to preserve and promote the history of resistance to enslavement through escape and flight. It connects over 800 verified Underground Railroad sites at federal, state, local, and international levels that share diverse stories of the human pursuit for freedom.
