When it went to work for the U.S. Lighthouse Service in 1930, this Coast Guard ship now on display in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor was state of the art. Through the best and worst weather conditions the sea had to offer in both peace and wartime, the lightvessel guided and patrolled marine traffic along the East Coast until she was retired
in 1971 and opened to the public as a museum ship.
