In the last Ice Age, North America was blanketed by an expansive glacial ice sheet. As the ice retracted, a moraine was left in its wake. The Ice Age Trail follows the contours of the ancient moraine through the state of Wisconsin. Intrepid hikers committing to the entire trail will travel 1,200 miles east to west from Lake Michigan to Minnesota.
