In 1780, Overmountain Men, Patriots of the Revolutionary War, marched over the Appalachian Mountains to fight in the Battle of Kings Mountain in South Carolina. Today history buffs, reenactors, and hikers follow this 330 mile trail through mountains and woodlands to celebrate the integral Patriot victory in the Revolutionary War.
