In March 1965, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led a peaceful march in support of the Voting Rights Act. Approximately 25,000 people marched 54 miles over the course of five days after facing violent opposition by law enforcement officers. The trail begins at Brown AME Church, crosses the Edmund Pettus Bridge and ends in Montgomery.
