Founded in 1867 with the support of the Freedmen’s Bureau, this pioneering school provided African Americans access to higher education in the Reconstruction era. 
It also hosted a 1906 meeting of the Niagara Movement, za forerunner to the NAACP. This campus is a symbol of progress and civil rights legacy. Work Conquers All.
