This towering roadrunner statue has greeted travelers since 1979. It stretches 22 feet from beak to tailfeathers. What began as a roadside curiosity celebrating the town’s wildlife has now become a symbol of Stockton’s local pride, West Texas charm, and even Christmas spirit. Each December, Pete is decorated with festive lights, a coat, and Santa hat, transforming him into a holiday landmark.
