This island residence built in 1851 became the home of the Nobel Prize-winning author during the 1930s. Fenced by gardens and a saltwater pool – Key West’s first – this was a tropical retreat for one of America’s most influential writers. Hemingway’s writing studio is preserved inside with first editions and personal items. The property is also inhabited by six-toed cats, offspring of his polydactyl pet.
