Notable for its 19-story tower and an observation deck that provides 360-degree views, the “Skyscraper on the Prairie” is the state’s tallest building. All three branches of government meet within the Capitol and surrounding state buildings on the 132-acre Complex. Park grounds, wildflowers, and an arboretum of 75 different trees surround this Art Deco building completed in 1934.
