Nicknamed the Roundhouse, the country’s only round Capitol is designed to resemble a Zia Sun Symbol. Within the central circular body and its four sun rays, the State Legislature, Governor, and Lieutenant Governor meet for official business. Rising 60 feet above the central Rotunda, a stained-glass skylight symbolizes the sky and earth in a pattern inspired by Native American basket weaving.
