This remote destination preserves three discontinuous 17th-century sites – Abó, Quarai and Gran Quivira – where Spanish Franciscan missionaries attempted to introduce Christianity to the Puebloan people. Mission ruins mingle with prehistoric pueblo remnants in a landscape where visitors may also spot petroglyphs and Collared Lizards.
