A short, accessible trail ascends Snow Cone, one of several spatter cones formed when ejected lava hardened around eruptive openings. The crater inside this steep-sided “mini-volcano” has been observed protecting unmelted ice through the summer months. Activities in the park include hiking, snowshoeing and a 7-mile scenic drive.
