This South Philadelphia church built by Lutheran settlers from Sweden first welcomed worshippers in 1700 and joined the Episcopal Diocese in 1845. Today, one of the nation’s oldest churches welcomes visitors when services are not being held. Members of George Washington’s Continental Army are buried in the cemetery outside.
