Planning a trip? Check out the Big Ridge State Park website.
Located in the Ridge-and-Valley Appalachians along the Norris Reservoir's southern shore, this park is heavily forested with over 15 miles of hiking trails. These trails lead through forest, along the 49-acre Big Ridge Lake, and to remnants of centuries old settlements and cemeteries. Among the historic sites is the Norton Grimstill built in 1825 and now made of a mix of original and replica pieces.
