Off the southern shore of Long Island, this Seashore is a haven for migrating birds and marine and terrestrial mammals. A Sunken Forest of maritime holly, a lighthouse, eel grass beds, and Smith Point Park are among the barrier island’s unique features. A separate unit on Mastic Beach preserves William Floyd’s Revolutionary War-era Estate.
