Memories of the U.S. government’s incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II haunt this site. Monument staff members lead seasonal tours of the Tule Lake Segregation Center, where more than 100,000 American citizens were detained, and Camp Tulelake, which was converted to a prisoner of war camp in 1944.
