This curio stop near Joseph City began in 1949, becoming famous when its founder set out a black-jackrabbit mascot for passing motorists. Its legendary countdown signs once stretched hundreds of miles—from Missouri into Arizona—ending at a sign reading “HERE IT IS.” The popular Pixar movie, Cars, even parodied the sign and thanked the real-life owners in the film’s credits.
